Dear Sir / Madame,
I am writing on behalf of the Photon Gallery, Centre for Contemporary Photography in Ljubljana and the Photon Gallery Vienna to share an exciting regional open call for aimed at young curators, artist, photographers or anyone up to 35 years of age (born after 1984), who would like to take on a curatorial challenge in curating.
The applicants will be able to draw on the material for their exhibition project proposal from the past six editions of the Different Worlds (2013–2018) photo competition, namely from the respective sets of about ten finalists of each edition. All applicants have to apply with a group exhibition concept with at least 2 and no more than 6 authors from the past editions. Later on, the winner, or winners in case of a curatorial group, will be given access to the entire archive of the Different Worlds competition.

A jury composed of representatives from Photon Gallery and Kino Šiška will decide on the best curatorial selection. The first prize provides support of 2,000€ for the production of the exhibition that will take place at the Kino Šiška exhibition premises. Representatives of the Photon Gallery will offer their expertise with the execution of the exhibition throughout the project. All travel and accommodation costs for the exhibition setup and opening will likewise be covered for the winner/winners of the competition.

The open call has no required topic. We accept a variety of curatorial concepts that take into account the technical limitations of the exhibition space (the floor plan is attached to the application) or surpass these limitations by employing creative installation concepts.
International submission deadline is 14 JUNE 2019.
